IVOUX is the much awaited side-project from BATTERY's members: Evan Sornstein, Shawn Brice and Maria Azevedo. IVOUX displays the more lyrical and poetic side of BATTERY's creativity. Sparse and minimal, the music has an ambient liquid texture, woven with dark gothic themes and ethnic instrumental accents. Though very conceptual in its musical approach, IVOUX is highly emotional in its essence. "Frozen" is the first of a series of themed CD projects and is dedicated to female winter deities from around the world. Maria Azevedo's voice shimmers and shines, illuminating each song with a unique emotional color and atmosphere. If David Lynch was to write music, it would very much sound like IVOUX: beautiful, unpredictible and haunting!
